    • Act as minder of all stories; should be able to encode inputs, updates to a story being handled by another dsk editor.
    • Monitors story development, get stories and advisories from reporters and submit to Chief Assignment Editor.
    • Act as minder of reporters; creates the Story Slug and informs the reporter or cameraman of the Story Slug of his/her assigned coverage.
    • Makes a new Newsgathering Item, immediately upon receipt of information on a Breaking News Story.
    • Coordinate and make follow ups on stories and advisories from the earlier shift, and properly turn over the same updates plus updates to the next shift desk editor.
    • Find and provide enterprise stories for reporters.
    • Provide assistance to reporters on how they can better treat or angle their stories.
    • Provide or facilitate logistics support for possible live or transmission of video and data.
    • Lobby stories with Executive Producers for inclusion in the TV Patrol World and Bandila line-up.
    • Collate and input futures coverage for reference.
    • Propose and develop systems to improve news gathering operations.
    • Attend daily story conferences in the morning or afternoon, or as assigned.
    • Initiate disciplinary action against reporters who are scooped, commit factual error or performing poorly.


    • Must have extensive background or actual experience in the various news beats as a reporter.
    • Graduate of a four year college degree, preferably Journalism, Broadcast communication or related field.
    • Must be familiar or have a working understanding of broadcast technologies, from computers, audio and video equipment to microwave and satellite transmission equipment.
    • Bilingual in English and Filipino
    • Willing to work on night and weekend shifts
