After two months of immersive training under the Kapamilya S.T.A.R. Internship Program, Cassandra Lim, Harold Leonardo, and Keren Pono – the first batch of students to be trained under the program – presented their final projects to the executive panel and received their Certificates of Completion.

Both Cassandra and Harold interned in the Digital Media Division, while Keren was immersed in the Integrated Marketing Division. All three were assigned projects while they were under the mentorship of their respective divisions.

Harold shared that the S.T.A.R. Program was able to help him in determining of possible opportunities that he can go for after college. A Broadcast Communication student, his exposure in the Digital Media Division made him realize that he could pursue both production and creatives.

Keren, taking up Speech Communication, relays that being part of the S.T.A.R. program was like working in a real-work environment. “My initial objective was to really learn what Marketing was all about and I was able to achieve that through the S.T.A.R. program,” she adds.

After their final presentations, the interns received outstanding feedback from the panel, and even commented that they will be very much welcome to join the company should they choose to after graduation.

The Student Training for Accelerated Readiness Program (S.T.A.R.) is one of the two ongoing internship programs of ABS-CBN.

What differentiates S.T.A.R. from ABS-CBN’s regular internship program (S.E.E.D.) is that it is a paid internship that provides highly exceptional students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in their chosen track (TV Production, News, Digital Media, Research, Human Resources, Marketing, or Information Technology) through the guidance of the industry’s subject matter experts. Successfully completing the program also gives them the chance to be offered employment and start immediately after graduation.

S.T.A.R. 2019

For students interested in joining the STAR Internship Program, ABS-CBN is now open to processing applications for the 2019 batch.

We are looking for a strong breed of student talents who are outstanding in their respective fields and have demonstrated exceptional potential.  The students must possess the following attributes:

• Innovative spirit and leadership potential

• Strong digital mindset and service orientation

• Intrinsically motivated and self-determined

• Can thrive in both collaborative and solitary environments

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently enrolled and a college student.

• Student should be 18 years old and above

• Open to 3rd year or graduating students who require internship credits or looking for voluntary internship.

• Must be amenable for date of deployment: June – July 2019
