BUSINESS SUMMARY

The Big Dipper Digital Content and Design, Inc. is a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation, in-charge of operating and maintaining the company's Media Asset Management system which includes:

- Converting Analog Video Materials to Digital Format
- Video Quality Checking of Ingested Video
- Cataloging of Ingested Materials
- Providing Transcription/Translation/ Synopsis Writing
- Processing of Multi-Format Dubbing

RESPONSIBILITIES

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Content Development Associate is in-charge of providing the following services: subtitling, translation, transcription, and synopsis writing to various repurposing groups. Also in-charge of providing English subtitles / translation following closed caption file requirements (audio cues, etc.) and ensuring that set quality standards are met both for local and international OTT requirements.

    STATEMENT OF DUTIES 

    Content Repurposing
    1. Quality checks, edits and reviews translation of  programs/movies/content with subtitles
    2. Provides SDH (subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) and non-SDH versions for other potential clients
     
    Administrative Management
    1. Coordinates and meets with Superior for assignments, machine schedules and deadlines.
    2. Handles administrative tasks assigned by superior
    3. Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time
     
    Customer Relations Management
    1. Attends to all queries & provides assistance to clients and ensures that customer feedbacks & complaints are monitored and addressed in order to continually improve the effectiveness of the quality management system & to meet the requirements of clients
     
    Policy and Procedure Development
    1. Determines and formulates preventive actions to eliminate causes of potential nonconformities of the section in order to prevent their occurrence
     
    Policy and Procedure Implementation
    1. Complies with the implemented corrective actions to eliminate causes of nonconformities encountered by the section to prevent their recurrence

REQUIREMENTS

    Education
    College Graduate (4-year course) Creative Writing, Journalism, Literature or any related course preferred

    Skills
    Learned in the discipline of creative writing
    Excellent oral and written communication skills
    Basic Computer operations 
    Can work under pressure and meet deadlines
    Keen with details             
    Flexible and can work with minimum supervision
    With excellent command of the English grammar/language
    Must pass the Synopsis Writing Exam
    Must pass the Translation Exam
    Willing to work in shifts and long hours

    Experience
    At least 3 years related working experience preferred 
    Fellowship/attendance in a creative writing workshop an advantage
