RESPONSIBILITIES

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Media Information Manager is in charge of developing policies, workflows, and systems for managing all information materials and outputs of INCA that adhere to ABS-CBN conventions and requirements. The work of INCA’s Metadata Editors and Writers will be under his/her supervision which includes the indexing of materials and the production of abstracts and synopsis. He/She finalizes materials that will be pushed to other ABS-CBN systems.

    Metadata Development & Quality Assurance

    • Takes the lead in all management and governance of news metadata in collaboration with various units of INCA and other divisions.
      • Standardize tagging and naming conventions used by INCA and formulate policies in setting up and maintaining a system that adheres to ABS-CBN conventions and requirements.
      • Recommends and reviews workflows, policies, and procedures related to metadata development, management and storage. Participates and works with other divisions in projects related to metadata management.

    Digital Asset Management
    • Organizes, manages and ensures integrity and security of archived digital content to optimize utilization
    • Identifies areas for improvement in the end to end file-based workflow process from acquisition, archiving to repurposing
    • Keeps abreast of important developments in Digital Asset Management

    Policy & Procedure Development and Implementation
    • Establishes policies, systems and workflows to ensure that relevant materials from internal and external sources are organized, safe kept and searchable for consumption.
      • To implement mechanisms, systems, workflows to organize data sets and make it available to all concerned stakeholders. 

    Administrative Management
    • Supervises the work of INCA Metadata Writers and Editors, including the indexing of materials and the production of abstracts and synopsis.
      • Finalizes materials that will be pushed to other ABS-CBN systems.

    Account Management
    • Clear grasp of client requirements and how these can be addressed efficiently
    • Manages the needs of the client
    • Builds consensus and cooperation with the client

    Project Management
    • Plans, organizes, and motivates people, and controls resources, procedures and protocols to achieve specific goals of a project
    • Develops simple project plans including work breakdown structure and estimates
    • Manages a complete multi-stage project in own area 

    PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING
    • Can resolve issues related to the daily operations of the Information Management Group.
      • Verifies the accuracy of the information and data sent to and by their group
      • Meeting of deadlines given specific timelines
      • Can be able to resolve at least the basic technical issues that may plague the system/s they would be using.

    • Able to coordinate and collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that the objectives of the department are met.

     

REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION          
    • College Graduate (4-year course)
      •  BA Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, Humanities, Political Science, with a background in working with a news/media organization preferred
    SKILLS
    • Adept at content metadata development & management (audio/video, articles, transcripts)
    • Adept at digital asset management
    • Has experience in developing systems, processes, and workflows
    • Can supervise teams and manage operations/deliverables; 3-5 supervisory experience preferred
    • Has sound editorial judgement and strong news sense
    • Knowledgeable and updated with news and current events/personalities
    • 3-5 year experience with project management and client management preferred
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Works well under pressure, with a keen eye for details
    • Flexible and can work with minimum supervision
