RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Remote Cameraman’s task is to capture all correct, necessary and desirable footage and angles, with the accompanying audio, in accordance with the requirements of the script, scene, nature of event and/or requirements of the director or any authorized production personnel, for the program assigned to him.
     
    Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Setting up/Execution of Technical Requirements
      1. Able to effectively set-up, operate and execute 3-point lighting technique (Back light, fill light, key light) or using a reflector
      2. Able to unload, assemble and connect cameras, its attachment and accessories
      3. Able to identify possible impediments to camera movements in relation to the set or technical requirement in order to provide inputs to resolve them
      4. Able to identify appropriate camera access for different program formats
    2. Operating Equipment and Troubleshooting
      1. Able to compose and execute shots based on the focus, target audience of the new/story; Updated or familiar with current events
      2. Able to execute camera movements in order to tell a story using a sequence of shots (ie. Video continuity)
      3. Able to execute “shoot to edit” camera shots when necessary
      4. Able to execute basic camera movements (wide shot, close-up shot, medium shot, panning shot, zooming shot)
      5. Able to identify and use advance features of camera
      6. Able to execute basic audio operations (e.g. monitoring consistency of audio quality, positioning of microphone)
      7. Able to effectively operate and set-up lighting equipment such as lighting console/filters/lights among others
      8. Able to effectively set-up camera complements such as cammate, camera crane, jib crane and steady cam, etc.
      9. Able to adjust errors in shot composition through the effective manipulation of camera controls
      10. Able to execute advanced camera movements (e.g. extreme close-up shots with composition)
      11. Able to identify appropriate microphone and audio accessories during location shooting
      12. Able to effectively operate multi/single system camera set-up/operation
    3. Technical Interpretation of Creative Requirements
      1. Able to compose and execute shots as instructed by the director base on the nature/requirements of the script and scene
