ABS-CBN Corporation is the Philippines' leading information and entertainment multimedia conglomerate. The Company is primarily involved in television and radio broadcasting, as well as in the production of television and radio programming for domestic and international audiences and other related businesses. ABS-CBN produces a wide variety of engaging, world-class entertainment programs that are aired on free-to-air television.

The Company is also one of the leading radio broadcasters, operating eighteen radio stations throughout the key cities of the Philippines. ABS-CBN provides news and entertainment programming for nine channels on cable TV and operates the country's largest cable TV service provider. RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position will be responsible for providing leadership to the creative team in the development and implementation of the creative direction of the business unit/program.
                                                                                                                           
    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
    • Monitor trends and changing tastes of the market; able to monitor the show's performance in terms of ratings and vis-a-vis competition from other stations in order to pinpoint present and future directions the shows should take and to know what adjustments, reformatting, solutions to take.
    • Organize a systematic method of gathering feedback regarding existing programs/ shows/ content format
    • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the creative team (directors, writers, ep's, etc.)
    • Help in the recruitment and training of new writers in coordination with the ep, head writer, and pm.
    • Organize systematic and continuing workshops and training for both new and regular writers, and others in the staff.
    • Draw up work ethics among the writers of the program, thus inculcating among our writers in the right and effective attitude towards their craft and profession.
    • Contribute ideas and other inputs during brainstorming and meetings to improve script; able to collate all ideas, put structure and organize these into a cohesive concept.
    • Assess strengths and weakness of the overall content of the shows by coordinating with the head writer, ep and pm.
    • Provide consultancy to shows and facilitate emergency brainstorming to resolve creative problems that the program may encounter.
    • Create and supervise a mechanism that will ensure the continuous development of new concepts and programs or reformatting of existing shows; able to initiate breakthroughs.
    • Help in evaluating the monthly line-up of each program in order to take the necessary suggestion and recommendation.
    • Recognize possible linkages with other synergy groups.
    • Coordinate/ make suggestions regarding creative concerns such as casting, location, story treatment, choice of director, special effects to the core creative team of each program.
     

REQUIREMENTS

    • Graduate of Mass Communication, Journalism or any related course
    • Excellent oral and written skills
    • Possesses editorial judgement
    • Flexible and can work under pressure, with minimum supervision
    • Keen with details and can analyze data
    • Familiar with various content formats and personalities
    • Can handle projects
