BUSINESS SUMMARY

ABS-CBN Shared Service Center Pte. Ltd. (SSC) is a captive service provider for ABS-CBN Corporation and its local, regional and global subsidiaries. The parent company of SSC is ABS-CBN Corporation.

SSC is primarily engaged in providing support services for Finance and Accounting, IT, HR, and Order Management and Fulfillment. The service center is a foreign company duly organized and incorporated under the laws of Singapore with a branch located at Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center (ELJCC), Eugenio Lopez Drive, Quezon City.

The facility at ELJCC has about 300 employees and has been operational since September 1, 2009. The company is expected to significantly increase its headcount over the next five years with the impending service expansion.

SSC is mainly interested in sharing best practices at IBPAP given the company's unique background in the Broadcasting Industry. The company is looking forward to get in touch with other shared service organizations to benchmark on processes, systems and service expansion strategies. The center is on its journey from a developing organization to a mature captive shared services catering not only to ABS-CBN companies but also to its affiliates in the Lopez Conglomerate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    GENERAL LEDGER (LOCAL)

    1. Oversee the performance of the following:

    · Monthly, quarterly & annual financial close

    · Consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports including supporting notes to the audited financial statements

    · Monthly intercompany reconciliation statements and resolve reconciling items with counterparts

    · Account analysis and journal entries preparation

    · Posting of journal adjustment requests from other Divisions/groups

    · Assistance with internal audit requests

    2. Ensures standardization of processes related to General Ledger Accounting

    3. Work closely with client, Finance and Operations team to ensure completeness and integrity of financial information

     

    CONSOLIDATION

    1. Oversee the performance and preparation of the following:

    · Monthly consolidation reports for Comptrollership

    · Quarterly statutory reports for SEC submission

    2. Manage automation projects related to consolidated reporting

     

    CLIENT MANAGEMENT

    1. Focuses on maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring that their business services are performing at a high-quality standard

    · Making sure that services are being seamlessly delivered to the clients of the organization

    · Develops problem management and service improvement plans

    · Coordinates SLA creation

     

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

    · Monitoring the service team’s operational performance and tracking KPIs

    · Monitors service team’s issues and client complaints

    · Coaching and mentoring within the team

REQUIREMENTS

    · Education: Accountancy

    · Certified Public Accountant

    · Work Experience: At least 8-10 years of relevant work experience

    · Qualities:

    - Knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management.

    - Knowledge of the functions, operation and mission of the specific department.

    - Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.

    - Management experience in a team-oriented workplace, preferred.

    - Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members.

    - Demonstrated knowledge of basic economic, budgeting, and accounting principles and practices.

    - Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction.

    - Excellent organizational management skills

    · Competencies:

    - Excellent skill in the use of MS Office applications, and knowledge in SAP applications is an advantage.

    - Strong leadership, interpersonal and people development skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse organization.

    - Solid understanding of financial processes and transactions, knowledgeable GAAP/PFRS, as well as customer relationship management.

    - Excellent problem solving skills and detail oriented

    - Must be comfortable working with all levels of management and be able to critically evaluate and concisely communicate business issues/risks with conviction to business and finance audiences.

    - Above average written and spoken communication skills.
