RESPONSIBILITIES

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The graphics artist provides the graphics requirements of programs by using a range of computer models and softwares. Graphics requirements include on-air elements such as over-all broadcast design that includes OBBs (Opening Billboards), logos, icons (over-the-shoulder), weather updates and other visual presentations.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Prepare graphics elements through creative composition and accurate display of information and images during live newscasts or taped programs
    2. Executes on-air graphics requirements accurately
    3. Stays infromed on current events and prominent personalities
    4. Develops overall broadcast design of programs in consultation with the executive producer, director, and/or program staff
    5. Makes sure that graphics equipment are always in good working condition

    PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING
    The Graphics Artist should be able to deliver Graphics requirement even under the pressure of deadlines, last-minute program changes, and multiple assignments. He should exercise good judgment on what requirements need top priority.

    The Graphics Artist should be able to determine the best concept, design, and color scheme of the Graphics presentation. He/She ensures that output is presented clearly and accurately.

    The Graphics Artist ensures Graphics Designs are consistent with the Program's Over-all look and color scheme.

    Brainstorms and gives suggestions to other artists on the production of Graphics requirements whenever needed.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or Communication Arts
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience
    • Must have facility with current computer softwares and models (Mac, PC, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.)
    • Must be familiar with all broadcast equipment (VizRT, 3D, immersive content unit)
    • Must have knowledge in the following areas: graphics animation, motion graphics, traditional animation, computer animation, 3D, illustration, post-production, broadcast, motion design
    • Must have an interest in current events
    • Effective communicator
    • Must have keen attention to details especially in spelling and color combination
    • Must work well under the pressure of deadlines and heavy work load
