BUSINESS SUMMARY

ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) was originally established in 1996 as SNN, the Sarimanok News Network. SNN was the brainchild of the late Eugenio "Geny" Lopez Jr. who envisioned a TV station that would become the Filipinos' primary source of news and information. Geny believed that with SNN, he was bridging geographical gaps separating Filipinos or in his own words "building bridges on the air."

SNN began airing on SKY Cable Channel 21 on May 1, 1996. Back then the channel served viewers the top stories of the day via two major newscasts - Dateline Philippines and Primetime News while short news advisories aired throughout the day.

To enhance its resources and strengthen its position as THE news channel for Filipinos, SNN in 1998 joined forces with SKY Cable News, another Lopez-owned channel that specialized in business news reporting. The merger of the two stations paved the way for the formation of the Philippines' first, 24/7 news and current affairs channel offering the latest in domestic and international news, business information, sports and weather updates and lifestyle features. In 1999 the station changed its name to ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel.

Today ANC has firmly established its identity as an accurate and unbiased source of information and the go-to station for breaking news, wall-to-wall live news coverage and analysis with context.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Community Manager helps support the production teams working on Integrated News' digital executions for the upcoming elections.
    S/he is primarily responsible for monitoring content produced for Halalan across new platforms - tracking metrics and responding to comments where needed as well as monitoring election-related executions being done by other networks, publications, and outlets.
    S/he will also be expected to help implement activities that engage and retain audiences on various social platforms through screening user-generated content and producing posts, artcards, polls, etc.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Tracking and reporting metrics for Halalan content across new platforms
    • Monitoring comments and replies to queries on Halalan-related content on selected platforms
    • Monitoring and reporting on emerging trends in social media as well as election-related executions being done by other networks, publications, and outlets
    • Sorting and selecting user-generated content and send-ins from time to time according to criteria set by leads
    • Supporting community-building efforts by helping to ideate and implement activities to deepen engagement of audiences on various platforms through posts, artcards, polls, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communication, or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of social media platforms
    • Comfortable with basic data reporting and analytics for social
    • Excellent communication skills in both English and Filipino
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
    • Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel and Powerpoint)
    • Prior experience in social media management is a plus
