Star Recording, Inc. - or simply, Star Records - was a major diversification move in the evolution of ABS-CBN from a broadcast media to a fully integrated entertainment company. After gaining a solid foothold in film production and distribution (Star Cinema) and merchandising (ABS-CBN Licensing), venturing into the music business was an obvious development. 

Incorporated in February 1995, Star Records began commercial operations in September of the same year, having signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Sony Music Entertainment, covering the entire country except Metro Manila. 

Within a few months, the company managed to set up what has become the largest provincial sales and distribution network, with branches in Cebu, Iloilo, Davao and Cagayan de Oro, complemented by a team of sales representatives for Northern, Central and Southern Luzon.


    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for strategizing and leading initiatives that will provide digital content that drives revenue and helps increase brand awareness and engagements of ABS-CBN Music (local and international) digital platform and social media sites.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Oversees the conceptualization and execution of digital contents that drive and optimize profitable business opportunities.
    2. Leads and oversees the development, coordination and implementation of strategic plans designed to maintain as well as increase existing business and capture new opportunities for the ABS-CBN Music Ecosystem.
    3. Outlines and proposes new approaches or business models to develop the current business, and how to generate revenue from this approach/model.
    4. Works closely with audio content, new media, and ad/prom marketing teams to
      develop/upsell existing business, and how to further build the brand of the business unit’s
      products or services.
    5. Works with teams from other business units and partners for shared digital products /
    6. Keeps track of the targets set for YouTube channel and meets the set targets/quota.
    7. Monitors day-to-day trending topics & shows and create related articles and features
    8. Monitor company’s digital presence versus competitors.
    9. Researches on the best digital trends and practices that can be used for repurposing
    10. Performs other tasks to be assigned from time to time.


    • Has exceptional creative acumen/skill on content planning up to execution.
    • Has above standards competency on production management, editing and production technology
    • Must be familiar with emerging digital technologies such as social media sites, streaming media, blogging, etc.
    • Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
    • Has good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
