RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for creative execution of static and video materials for assigned projects. Skills include video editing, post-production, still and motion graphic design. He/she works closely with the Creative Services Unit Head, Multimedia Producers, and Assistants. The job of the MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER requires imagination and creativity combined with technical expertise in applying a wide range of software applications and the creative management of teams and projects.
     
      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OUTPUT
      CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
    1 Design and layout communication materials for online, on-air and on-ground use Artcards, e-mailers, GIFs, web banners, skins, on-air idents, etc.
    2 Create and animate custom illustrations or other graphic elements, artcards and templates needed for print, online and video production Design/look templates (both static and motion graphics) - at least 2 studies per project, and render final art
    3 Lead the compositing /editing/rendering of audio-visual materials (when necessary) Render TVCs/plugs that are graphics-heavy based on client brief
    4 Produce sketches or "storyboards" for TVCs, or "roughs" to communicate ideas to the client/team Storyboards / Roughs for  A/V materials
    5 Come up with original ideas in response to a brief  from client; generating creative ideas and concepts to fulfill the advertising needs of the client Pitch deck with design and animation studies
    6 Able to gain an understanding of the target audience and business that the advert is aimed at Application of BI guidelines in the overall look of campaign materials (art)
    7 Work on location and attend TVC shoots Act as the overall art director of photo shoots
    8 Where appropriate, source stock images to support marketing communications Source images which can be utilized as a design element in the FA
    9 Develop digital creative concepts that achieve the overall business strategy while creating an exceptional digital experience for consumers Keep him/herself abreast with the latest trends in design for digital campaigns
      PLANNING & ORGANIZING
    10 Manage own accounts and projects, working within budget and scheduling requirements Maintain a regular design/art calendar and provide a regular update on the status of each deliverable. Create an approval matrix with provisions for multiple revisions.
    11 Adopt a flexible approach to working hours - long hours are often required to meet the needs of the clients
    12 Ensure that deadlines are met and can work effectively under pressure.
      CREATIVE DECISION-MAKING
    13 Review illustrative material to determine if it conforms to standards & specifications Maintain a design bible - especially for recurring deliverables with templated design specifications.
      EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
    14 Able to confer with Creative Head, and team to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts. Regular correspondence with the project team and clients.
    15 Able to confer with clients to determine objectives, budget, background information, and presentation approaches, styles & techniques.
    16 Able to negotiate with suppliers to determine what services will be performed in a project/deliverable.
      PRESENTATION SKILLS
    17 Develop presentation materials and present final layouts to clients for approval Regular attendance in creative meetings, concept pitches, and/or client briefs.
    18 Create and present Powerpoint presentations
    19 Able to tell stories with storyboards
      MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS
    20 Able to promote productive relations with colleagues, clients, as well as vendors including printers, freelance designers, photographers, etc. Maintain a healthy, professional network of collaborators to deliver targets.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (major in Advertising), Multimedia or related course
    • Minimum of 3 years design work experience, with a strong knowledge of the challenges of designing for digital
    • Has good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Has excellent work ethics, and can multi-task
    • Has knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects
    • Understands the limitations and capabilities of HTML, HTML 5, CSS and Flash
    • Knows and understands the technical specifications in design: Screen resolutions, Banner sizes and dimensions, File formats, Web specs such as dimensions, Social media specs such as Facebook cover photo size, Twitter background, etc.
    • Full understanding of file formats and finalizing of files for production and development
    • Ability to prepare technical design guidelines
    • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
