RESPONSIBILITIES

    The News Property Custodian performs a variety of semi-routine and routine duties associated with the releasing, receiving, maintenance, and minor repair of equipment under his safekeeping. Has the ability to do RFID system transactions and other system related activities. Ensure that all equipment being issued is in good working condition. Preparing and organizing resources with the guidance of supervisor based on the clients’ request. Performs physical inventory of equipment and other resources, minor troubleshooting and endorsement of equipment needed preventive or corrective maintenance to the company’s maintenance section or accredited maintenance support.
    1. Issuance, inventory, repair and maintenance of equipment and ensure they are in good working condition
    2. Checks and Coordinates with client’s regarding the appropriateness of the resources needed for daily operations

    3. Coordinate with equipment maintenance regarding defective equipment for corrective/preventive maintenance.
    4. Monitoring of adequate materials / spare parts needed for daily operations (cleaning materials, microphones, camera and tripod and other broadcasting equipment spare parts etc.)
    5. Monitors thru tracking report the condition or status of equipment.
    6. Able to identify the specifications/capabilities and models of the following equipment under his safekeeping. Either video or audio equipment in order to assist clients/customers in determining appropriate equipment for specific requirements.
    7. 7. Perform preventive maintenance and or minor external repair of video cameras in order to ensure that they are in good working condition.
    8. Monitoring and tracking equipment inventory including its model, serial number and other identification of equipment issued and released
    9. Reviews the schedule and assignment of equipment for various program requirements.
    10. Accomplishes appropriate documents thru RFID system generated and updated minor support details attachment, signed by receiving borrower, property custodian and security officer on duty and forwards the same with the items to the concerned borrower for proper endorsement.
    11. Ensure no discrepancy on the item being issued or returned physically versus signed document, forward to supervisor incident report fully accomplished by the borrower in the event of damage, lost or incomplete return of borrowed resources.
    12. Verifies details, counts, and screens against RMS created for the equipment / accessories requested.
    13. Complies with standard policies and procedures, solves minor job-related problems and/or assists in the resolution of major problems. 
    14. Keeps a proper filing system for documents for audit and reference purposes.
    15. Maintains good housekeeping and control at the INCA-News Custodian area at all times.
    16. Performs other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time by superiors.

REQUIREMENTS

    Educational Attainment
    • Graduate of 2 year Technical Course (Electronic or Electrical)

    Work Experience
    • At least 1 year experience in TV audio and video operation

    Skills/Competencies
    • Knowledge in basic operations and proper handling of equipment under his safekeeping in order to avoid damage in the equipment.
    • Technical know-how on basic troubleshooting of audio/video broadcast equipment under his custody
    • Knowledge on operation and setup of video and audio equipment such as teleprompter, surveillance camera, video monitors and microphones among others.
    • Knowledge in various computer software applications (e.g. MS Excel, Word, RMS system, Internet etc.)
    • Familiar with management policies and other work-related procedures
