Prior to the shutdown of its broadcast operations in 2020, ABS-CBN was the largest television network in the Philippines. As a radio broadcast company, it operated 22 radio stations including anchor radio stations in Mega Manila, DZMM and DWRR, in the AM and FM bands, respectively.
The company delivers television programming outside of the Philippines to over 3 million viewers in North America, the Middle East, Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada, and other countries in Asia, through the internet and the Company’s global distribution platform, TFC, using DTH satellite service, cable television channels, IPTV, mobile applications and video streaming services. RESPONSIBILITIES
The News Video Editor cuts ingested/downloaded video materials and assembles them to make video content that is fit for uploading on News Digital and its various social channels (YouTube, Facebook, TikTok etc.) and other Integrated News platforms.
The job entails using editorial judgement to create video content by assembling raw and edited videos, creating simple graphics, and choosing the appropriate background music to make a coherent story.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with Video Producer to decide on the tone and treatment of the video content.
- Makes sure all materials (script, raw/edited videos, music and sound effects) are ready for editing.
- Makes simple graphics needed for the video content.
- Assembles the collated materials to create a coherent video story.
- Uses editorial judgement to choose appropriate music and sound effects.
- Ensures that all video materials are consistent in color and quality.
- Submits the edited video content to Video Producer for approval.
- Implements changes taking into account inputs from Video Producer.
- Exports and submits final output to Video Producer for approval and uploading.
- Delivers output based on the following News Digital content requirements:
- Longform Videos (e.g., documentaries): 1 video with an expected completion timeline of 5 to 7 working days.
- Midform Videos: 1 video with an expected completion timeline of 3 to 5 working days.
- Raw Cuts: A minimum of 8 video outputs daily.
- Other Shortform Videos: Expected completion within 1 working days.
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Multimedia Design, Arts and Communication, or related field
- At least 1-3 years of experience in Video Editing.
- Strong Video Editing Skills, Team work, communication and Video Production skills
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Capcut
- Ability to multitask and prioritize with little supervision under tight deadlines
