ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (previously ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.) is a committed advocate for public service in strategic sector of Philippine society. AFI aims to awaken hope in the Filipino through implementing projects via multi-sectoral partnerships in the spirit of bayanihan.

These are in child care and protection, education, environment, disaster management and community development. It is the public service arm of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, one of Asia's biggest media conglomerates. It draws on the relationship to tap into the creativity and reach of media for its various programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Primarily responsible for the development and implementation of Bantay Kalikasan – Citizen Science Project advocacy communications & IEC strategy and initiatives.

                                                                                                                                                   
    EDUCATION
    1. Gather inputs from relevant stakeholders and contribute in crafting and implementing the project’s communications and advocacy plan
    2. Conduct thematic research on the project’s advocacy materials and content in cooperation with subject matter experts; design and produce digital and printed materials for workshops, meetings, and IEC activities
    3. Support the documentation of project initiatives and ensure that narratives, stories and learnings are collected, curated and used in advocacy activities
    4. Develop and deploy information & education strategies and content  for community-based advocacy in order to effectively drive the relevant messaging and elicit response/engagement from the targeted community sectors, national and local government agencies, private sector, schools, media and other civil society organizations
    COMMUNICATION
    1. Create and deliver presentation and advocacy materials to ensure that the project’s advocacy is communicated to AFI stakeholders and audiences
    2. Work closely with Digital & PR team in developing and implementing the project's advocacy messaging strategies that can be executed in the available Digital/Social Media Channels
    3. Work closely with the TV & Radio team in developing the project’s advocacy messaging strategies for relevant TV/Radio platforms (I.e. GDiaries & Kapamilya Konek)
    4. Review audience insights and develop messaging that will influence target audiences
    PROJECT DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
    1. Oversee the planning and implementation of advocacy/communications events for the project
    2. Monitor and evaluate the outputs, outcomes and impacts of the advocacy initiatives
    3. Help in establishing a network/coalition of key advocacy partners such as NGOs, POs, LGUs, and private sector organizations through communications and advocacy platforms
    4. Develop designs, logos, style guides, templates for project documentation, guidebooks, presentations, reports for use by project team members, stakeholders and partners. 
    OTHER FUNCTIONS
    1. Attend relevant meetings related to advocacy processes and partnership meetings and other relevant internal and external meetings/functions as assigned by the project manager
    2. Collaborate with AFI’s Communications teams (Digital & PR, TV & Radio) in order to align the project’s advocacy strategies with overall AFI strategies
    POLICY/SYSTEM COMPLIANCE
    1. Adhere to AFI’s Vision-Mission-Values and compliance with AFI/HRD policies, systems, and other applicable government regulations.
    2. Implement appropriate systems/procedures in the performance of his/her duties and responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

    KNOWLEDGE:
    • Knowledge on environment issues, particularly reef and marine life protection
    • Communications Strategies for nonprofits, communities and advocacies
     
    EXPERIENCE EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT REQUIRED:
    • Two years of significant experience in environmental issues, particularly on advocacy / development communications
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, or other Sciences is preferred
    • Training in communication or social science is desirable
     
    SKILLS:
    • Strong written and verbal communication in Filipino and English; basic copywriting and editing skills
    • Influencing and advocacy skills including graphic design and photo editing skills, preferably proficient in Adobe Photoshop or Canva; basic editing skills in Adobe Premiere or other video editing tools.
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Strong organizational and networking skills
