These are in child care and protection, education, environment, disaster management and community development. It is the public service arm of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, one of Asia's biggest media conglomerates. It draws on the relationship to tap into the creativity and reach of media for its various programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Supports the Program Officer in the assessment, planning, implementation of community-based projects of Bantay Bata 163 specifically The Child Safe Schools Project implemented in Luzon.

     

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

    1. Supports the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Child Safe Schools projects in Luzon, ensuring operational and financial efficiencies to maximize the impact to the intended beneficiaries.
    2. Contributes to the annual project plan for the Child Safe Schools project and provide inputs to other BB Projects
    3. Coordinates, prepares and facilitates the assessment and screening of prospective partner communities and organizations
    4. Implements the plan accordingly in coordination with both internal and external stakeholders of AFI – BB163
    5. Coordinates with on-ground partners for project implementation
    6. Assists partner organizations, donors and other stakeholders during on-ground activities
    7. Prepares and submits reports and feedback to the Project Officer after each project milestone
    8. Supports the promotion and implementation of Bantay Bata advocacy projects to help heighten the awareness and involvement of the shareholders and the general public.
    9. Ensures implementation of guidelines for proper documentation, financial reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the assigned programs, projects, initiatives, and interventions.
    10. Supervises volunteers during project implementation
    11. Ensures the compliance of all project initiatives in accordance with government regulations and ABS-CBN Foundation policies and guidelines
    12. Support other Bantay Bata project implementation as needed

    UNIT REPRESENTATION/NETWORKING

    1. Establishes and maintains strong partnership with partner schools, Schools Division Offices (SDO), Barangays, other government agencies, private sectors, NGOs as well as with individual donors locally and abroad to gain their continuing support to BB and AFI as a whole
    2. Coordinates with other BB programs, AFI support services and ABS-CBN units on program concerns

    POLICY/SYSTEMS/ADMINISTRATION/COMPLIANCE

    1. Recommends appropriate policies/systems to promote the unit’s operational efficiency
    2. Adheres to AFI’s Vision-Mission-Values and complies with AFI/HRD policies, systems and audit recommendations
    3. Ensures strict compliance to AFI’s Child Protection Policy and PSEA Policy
    4. Complies with AFI’s performance management system
    5. Adheres to all pertinent laws and requirements of government regulatory bodies related to child welfare and protection, resource generation and mobilization

    STAFF DEVELOPMENT

    1. Participates and provides feedback in relevant learning and development programs for continuing personal and professional growth.
    2. Recommends/introduces appropriate measures/creative strategies to build/strengthen the Bantay Bata Team. 

    OTHERS

    1. Performs other functions as may be directed by the Operations Specialist, Operations Manager, Director for Program Operations as deemed necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

    KNOWLEDGE
    • Government laws/rulings/issuance relevant to Bantay Bata Operations
    • Pertinent Laws and Jurisprudence on the Rights and Welfare of a Child (UN CRC, RA 7610, RA 7658, etc)

    EXPERIENCE/Educational Attainment Required
    • Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Community Development, Development Studies, or any Social or Behavioral Sciences
    • At least two years of relevant experience
