BUSINESS SUMMARY
ABS-CBN Shared Service Center Pte. Ltd. (SSC) is a captive service provider for ABS-CBN Corporation and its local, regional and global subsidiaries. The parent company of SSC is ABS-CBN Corporation.
SSC is primarily engaged in providing support services for Finance and Accounting, IT, HR, and Order Management and Fulfillment. The service center is a foreign company duly organized and incorporated under the laws of Singapore with a branch located at Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center (ELJCC), Eugenio Lopez Drive, Quezon City.
The facility at ELJCC has about 300 employees and has been operational since September 1, 2009. The company is expected to significantly increase its headcount over the next five years with the impending service expansion.
SSC is mainly interested in sharing best practices at IBPAP given the company's unique background in the Broadcasting Industry. The company is looking forward to get in touch with other shared service organizations to benchmark on processes, systems and service expansion strategies. The center is on its journey from a developing organization to a mature captive shared services catering not only to ABS-CBN companies but also to its affiliates in the Lopez Conglomerate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparation and submission of the Daily Cash Position and Liquidity report pack;
• Facilitate the funding of daily disbursement requirements. This covers cash pooling activities, bank to bank transfers and transfer to subsidiaries or third party vendors;
• Provide daily indicative rates as basis for the recommendations for investments and/or dollar or 3rd currency purchases;
• Generate data for the Cash Flow reporting. Submit the report to the SSC-Treasury Head for review and for final reporting to various finance approvers;
• Ensure that all open items for payment are processed within SLAs (for applicable mode of payments – Fund Transfer, Bank Check-cutting facilities, In-house checks and Online payments);
• Ensure that all payments for taxes, government charges and utility payments are processed timely to avoid penalties or disconnections;
• Validate and ensure that all checks and payment forms are fully signed by the signatories for submission and that all Online payments due are completely approved;
• Monitor and ensure completion of month-end closing activities (JV preparation and approvals, submission of month-end reports, among others).
• Coordinate and facilitate preparation of the requirements for the renewal of SBLC
• Prepare and submit documentary requirements to banks and other financial institutions including bank updates, loans, enrollment to various facilities, among others;
• Establish and maintain good relationships with banks and other financial institutions with whom day-to-day transactions are conducted;
• Monitor and ensure completion of month-end closing activities (JV preparation and approvals, submission of month-end reports, among others).
• Regularly monitor and ensure that KPIs are being met;
• Ensure that issues are addressed and escalated to superior as necessary;
• Facilitate review and assessment of existing policies and processes and recommend areas for improvement;
• Propose and manage projects that will address identified areas for improvement;
• Provide mentoring and coaching to the team (People Management)
• Perform various administrative tasks
REQUIREMENTS
• Experience managing a Treasury Function with more than five (5) years experience in Treasury Management, General Accounting and at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
• Robust knowledge and experience of treasury accounting including foreign exchange (FX), liquidity, cash flow and various financial instruments.
• Strong understanding of banking relationships and maintaining exceptional client relationship management and customer service skills.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and extensive experience in all facets of general accounting.
• Accounting or Finance graduate
• Must have the ability to work autonomously and be part of the broader team, and be a team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple parties.
• Excellent time management and organizational ability, and a high level of attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages.
