BUSINESS SUMMARY

ABS-CBN Shared Service Center Pte. Ltd. (SSC) is a captive service provider for ABS-CBN Corporation and its local, regional and global subsidiaries. The parent company of SSC is ABS-CBN Corporation.

SSC is primarily engaged in providing support services for Finance and Accounting, IT, HR, and Order Management and Fulfillment. The service center is a foreign company duly organized and incorporated under the laws of Singapore with a branch located at Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center (ELJCC), Eugenio Lopez Drive, Quezon City.

The facility at ELJCC has about 300 employees and has been operational since September 1, 2009. The company is expected to significantly increase its headcount over the next five years with the impending service expansion.

SSC is mainly interested in sharing best practices at IBPAP given the company's unique background in the Broadcasting Industry. The company is looking forward to get in touch with other shared service organizations to benchmark on processes, systems and service expansion strategies. The center is on its journey from a developing organization to a mature captive shared services catering not only to ABS-CBN companies but also to its affiliates in the Lopez Conglomerate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Tax Specialist is responsible in ensuring tax compliance of his/her assigned entities or accounts.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepares all tax returns/payments and supporting computations for filing/payment with the BIR/LGU.
    • Prepares CWT for issuance and collection.
    • Provides assistance in handling BIR audit cases of ABS-CBN Corporation and its subsidiaries.
    • Provides assistance in handling SGV Tax Compliance Audit.
    • Provides tax advice to divisions and subsidiaries with regard to tax consequences of various transactions
    • Discusses with concerned personnel proper tax treatment of transactions or possible exposures and remedial actions to be taken
    • Delivers a high level of Customer Service through a positive customer focused attitude.
    • Remains familiar with the relevant accounting standards, government or banking regulations, specifically those impacting the activities of assigned entities/clients.
    • Provides assistance to other team members and management team when required.
    • Participates in the inter-department cross trainings and deployment to ensure continuity of service.
    • Works within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained as such procedures and processes evolve over time.
    • Able to generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems and proposes improvements to processes.
    • Participates and assists the Service Delivery Manager in the overall attainment of the Financial Reporting Team Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators/Operational Performance.
    • Ensures strong control environment by upholding compliance standards, internal controls and best practices.
    • Escalates service issues internally and with external providers to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
    • Delivers a high level of Customer Service through a positive customer focused attitude.
