BUSINESS SUMMARY
ABS-CBN Shared Service Center Pte. Ltd. (SSC) is a captive service provider for ABS-CBN Corporation and its local, regional and global subsidiaries. The parent company of SSC is ABS-CBN Corporation.
SSC is primarily engaged in providing support services for Finance and Accounting, IT, HR, and Order Management and Fulfillment. The service center is a foreign company duly organized and incorporated under the laws of Singapore with a branch located at Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center (ELJCC), Eugenio Lopez Drive, Quezon City.
The facility at ELJCC has about 300 employees and has been operational since September 1, 2009. The company is expected to significantly increase its headcount over the next five years with the impending service expansion.
SSC is mainly interested in sharing best practices at IBPAP given the company's unique background in the Broadcasting Industry. The company is looking forward to get in touch with other shared service organizations to benchmark on processes, systems and service expansion strategies. The center is on its journey from a developing organization to a mature captive shared services catering not only to ABS-CBN companies but also to its affiliates in the Lopez Conglomerate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tax remittance return preparation – local and national
- Preparation of all tax returns/payments and supporting computations for filing/payment with the BIR/LGU
- Generate related tax reports/schedules from SAP
- Coordinate with concerned groups for resolution of issues/ variances
- Prepare tax computations and tax returns
- File the returns through EFPS
- CWT issuance and collection
- Monitoring of CWT issuance and collection
- Receive CWT certificates and summary listings from AMS/RNG Finance
- Compare certificates on hand vs. listing vs. SAP
- Prepare and issue CWT certificates to suppliers
- Prepare monthly CWT issuance and collection monitoring report
- Forward report to Tax Manager
- BIR audit
- Assistance in handling BIR audit cases of Parent and subsidiaries
- Prepare reports and schedules for audit requirements
- Audit
- Assistance in handling Tax Compliance Audit
- Prepare reports and schedules for audit requirements
- Others
- Provide tax advice to divisions and subsidiaries with regard to tax consequences of various transactions
- Discuss with concerned personnel proper tax treatment of transactions or possible exposures and remedial actions to be taken
- Perform research projects and other duties as assigned by the Tax Manager
- Deliver a high level of Customer Service through a positive customer focused attitude.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or any finance-related course or equivalent
- With at least 2 years work experience in Tax Accounting
- Candidates with at least 1 year relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- SAP experience is required
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, V-look ups, macros)
- Ability to keep oneself abreast with generally accepted accounting procedures
- Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders, particularly Finance Officers and auditors
- Good analytical skills
