JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Analyst is responsible for assisting the Finance Officer in the overall direction and control of all financial concerns of ABS-CBN Music. Provides detailed analysis and prepares various financial data and reports as needed by the division. In addition, the person will serve as a business partner for the assigned business unit or department.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Responsible for timely posting of month-end closing entries.
• Ensures timely and accurate submission of internal and external reports required by the service unit and corporate finance.
• Monitors actual cost against the approved budget for each project.

 

Budget Review

• Assists the Finance Officer and business units in preparing and reviewing the project’s profit and loss.
• Ensures the projected revenue and costs are reasonable and accurate.

 

Revenue Accounting

• Ensures timely submission of billings to SSC.
• Ensures that all billings are supported with the fully signed contract.
• Determines proper recognition of revenue accruals.
• Assists in efficient collection of receivables.

 

Cost Accounting

• Ensures all payment requests are within the approved budget.
• Ensures supporting documents are complete and accurate.
• Ensures timely submission of payment requests to approvers and SSC for processing.

 

Song Database Maintenance 

• Ensures timely approval of song requests from label heads.
• Ensures song requests are approved by the Music Core Group and are covered with contracts.
• Monitors song request exceptions and ensures completion and compliance by the label heads.
• Creates internal order necessary in the activation of songs.
• Validates song details and activates songs.

 

Policies and Procedures

• Responsible for effectively implementing company policies and reporting gaps and inefficiencies in the financial and operational aspects of the Division’s business activities to the Finance Officer and proposing solutions to address these issues.

 

Audit and Internal Control

• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures throughout the organization.
• Organizes regular reviews of practices, procedures, and systems, and takes necessary actions to ensure compliance with the company policies.
• Reviews proposals for significant new practices, procedures, and systems to determine whether company requirements are satisfied and recommend approval or modification.

 

Other Services

• Assists the Finance Officer in providing expert advice on tax issues affecting the Divisions handled.
• Serves as advisor to divisions assigned with regard to billing requests, cost estimates, and other financial-related matters.
• Performs other functions that may be assigned by the Finance Officer or the Division being handled from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, or any related program
• Preferably with 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or related functions, but fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• CPA license is an advantage
• Preferably with experience in SAP financial tools
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
