The Graphics Artist designs, conceptualizes and executes the visual elements of all programs and platforms using a range of computer models and software based on the requirements of the production.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

For Post Production

• Checks the iNews and script from production staff to check the visual elements; understand the visual element to be used
• Choose the appropriate visual element to be displayed (Moving or still, etc), as well as the appropriate equipment/machine to complete such.
• Craft and create the visual elements to be displayed according to the requirements of the script
• Ensure accuracy of visual elements as well as its adherence to the ABS-CBN Standards Ethics and Manual
• Render the created visual elements and upload completed material to Graphics Share based on the required file format for Video Editors or On-Air operators to pick up
• Perform corrections as needed by the program

 

For Pre Production

• Understand the broadcast design (OBB, Transitions Upstream, Lower-thirds/Downstream, Augmented Reality) requirement by attending story conferences/ story planning, or liaising with production staff
• For OBB, Transitions, up stream and downstream, liaise with Executive producer
• For On-Air Templates for live, liaise with Executive Producer
• For Augmented Reality, liaise with the director, technical director for AR measurements, Executive Producer and SP, Head of Data Analytics/ Research
• Choose the appropriate visual element to be used in the broadcast design (3D, moving, or still).
• Craft and create the visual elements to be displayed as required by the theme of the program; Graphic artist will come up with various proposals/conceptualizations by creating studies
• Render the created Broadcast Design and upload completed material to Graphics Share based on the required file format

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Capable of graphics animation, motion graphics, traditional animation, computer animation, illustration, post-production, broadcast design, 3D, augmented reality, virtual sets
• Must be knowledgeable with current desktop publishing tools and graphic design software (expert level skills in Adobe Creative Apps such as Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator)
• Preferably with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or Communication arts;
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Broadcast Graphic Design
• Proficient in 3D software like Cinema 4D, Maya, 3D Max, Blender
• Preferably able to operate newsroom system like Vizrt, Ross Xpression
• Must be creative and have a strong graphic design skill
• Must have an interest in news and current events
• Effective communicator
• Must have keen attention to details, especially in spelling and color combination
