Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily responsible for developing and implementing a range of fundraising activities to sustain the Foundation’s programs, projects, and general operations. These fundraising activities may be through various means and sources but primarily through corporate partnerships.
Build a partnerships / donations pipeline
- Conduct research on potential funding opportunities
- Identify organizations that have advocacies aligned with AFI’s and would be open to partnering or sponsoring AFI’s activities
- Develop a partnerships pipeline based on AFI calendar of activities and the list of potential partners identified, keeping in mind the donation targets
- Send applications and conduct pitches for potential partners, showcasing AFI’s programs and initiatives
- Negotiate with potential partners regarding the funding or other forms of resource support they will be able to provide and the commitments/deliverables from AFI’s end
Inter-department coordination and alignment
- Closely coordinate with Programs to align in terms of program directions
- Keep up-to-date on new program initiatives or projects, as well as any other considerations that will be relevant to negotiations and pitches for donors
- Work with programs and support services to assess budgetary requirements to allow for resource mobilization strategies that are targeted and aligned
Develop and implement fundraising activities
- Develop and design fundraising activities as aligned with the organization’s goals and the programs/projects, this may include corporate fundraising, crowdfunding, tapping into development assistance funds or grants, among others
- Align with Programs and Advocacy Communications to ensure feasibility of the proposed activities and its alignment with AFI’s vision and mission and its programs
- Come up with a project plan and budget for fundraising activities
- Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure that fundraising activities are in accordance with regulations and are covered by necessary legal documents such as permits, MOAs, service contracts, etc
- Secure the levels of approval for the fundraising activities
- Act as the lead in implementing the fundraising project plan, being accountable for the implementation and its outcomes
Donor Relationship Management
- Establish, nurture, and manage relationships with existing donors and funders through regular project updates, reports, and other activities that will ensure donor satisfaction and lead to donor retention and growth
- Ensure that commitments to donors/funders are delivered according to specifications and in a timely manner
- Work closely with implementing programs, and if applicable, other support groups, to come up with a polished donor report by providing the programs with donor specifications, requests, preferences, if any
- Prepare donor reports on fund utilization, program implementation and any other commitments to the requesting party in a timely manner
- Ensure that donation records and donor information database are updated
Policy/Systems Administration/Compliance
- Implement appropriate systems/procedures in the performance of duties and responsibilities
- Adherence to ALKFI’s Vision-Mission-Values and compliance with ALKFI/HRD/SIFC policies and other applicable regulations
- Attend regular Department meetings

Experience/Educational Attainment Required
- At least 3 years professional working experience; premium will be considered for those with experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Proven fundraising experience is a plus
- College graduate, preferably with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Development Studies, and other relevant courses
