Description

The Closed Captioning Specialist is in-charge of ensuring the quality of closed captioning provided for company-produced and acquired content of ABS-CBN and its Subsidiaries for archiving and repurposing. This also addresses closed caption requirements for online and OTT distribution, both local and international.

 

Closed Captioning

1.    Ensures that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met with regards to the closed captioning requirements of company-produced and acquired content

2.    Conducts quality checking (QC) by reviewing, revising and verifying closed captions; aligns closed captioning quality standards with online and OTT requirements, both local and international

3. Conducts mentoring and training for closed caption providers, both for in-house (Big Dipper), to promote continuous improvement in terms of service; and content owners, to allow the latter to validate closed captioning provided prior to airing/publishing

4. Handles client requirements and ensures the successful delivery of new and emerging services of the department, including audio description

 

Administrative Management

1.    Assists Immediate Superior in administrative functions related to the section’s operations

2.    Coordinates and meets with Immediate Superior for assignments, work schedules, and deadlines

 

Customer Relations Management

1. Attends to queries and provides assistance to clients, and ensures that customer feedbacks and complaints are monitored and addressed within the agreed SLA to continuously improve the effectiveness of the quality management system and meet client requirements
2. Conducts training-related requests for transfer of skills and expertise

 

Policy and Procedure Implementation

1.    Complies with the implemented corrective actions to eliminate causes of nonconformities encountered by the section and prevent its recurrence

 

Qualifications

 

Education        

College Graduate (4-year degree course)

Journalism, Literature, Mass Communication, or any related course preferred

 

Skills          

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Basic Computer operations

Can work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Keen with details

Flexible and can work with minimum supervision

Excellent command of the English grammar/language

Must pass the Translation Technical Exam

Willing to work in shifts and long hours

Knowledge of foreign language (Italian, Spanish, French, and German) is an advantage

 

Experience

At least two (2) to three (3) years related job experience preferred
